The Mitre 10 bi-annual Gala Awards celebrate the amazing work of Mitre 10 store owners and their suppliers. As the biggest event of the year on the Mitre 10 calendar, we were determined to make a splash by producing a night that everyone would remember.
We used Chess as a visual metaphor for the event; that meant creating large scale chess pieces to that would add to the drama and excitement – think The Queen’s Gambit. We carried the Chess theme through to the photography studio, allowing guests to have a professional photo taken during the breaks. Finally, we closed out the night with a seven-piece band that saw the dance floor fully occupied all night.
The Gala saw 860 guests fill the venue at Spark Arena. As a nation that has DIY in our blood, we enjoyed bringing everyone together under one roof for an event that Mitre 10 was proud of.
