When Vodafone New Zealand announced that it would be rebranding to One New Zealand in 2023, Uno Loco was engaged to create a re-onboarding experience that would bring employees into the heart of One NZ’s new culture and focus.
Together with our sister company, Hula, we designed a re-onboarding experience that would consider 3000+ employees across three customer care centres (reaching all scheduled shifts) along with support offices in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch.
We created an immersive and interactive experience to connect the audience with the brand and One NZ’s values. The red Vodafone lanyards were respectfully retired and employees were able to walkthrough a red-to green tunnel. Aotearoa soundscapes were supported by an onboarding film, with a personal message from the CEO. We also set up self-discovery zones that encouraged staff to explore employee benefits, IT support and community initiatives.
The unprompted user generated content (more than 180 posts on social media) evidenced a successful event that fully engaged employees. In the words of Sarah Bellett, One NZ’s Head of People Experience, “Our transition from Vodafone to One NZ required an internal transformation that provided a platform for our brand to come to life for our people and our customers. The decision to partner with Uno Loco to help bring our vision to life, was an easy one. They took the seeds of an idea for a re-onboarding experience and co-created a memorable and highly engaging event for our people. Every small but symbolic detail (from rocket launches to native seedlings )was considered and amplified making the whole experience a series of ‘goosebumps moments.”
