TRENZ is the tourism sector’s showcase annual event bringing the industry together to shape its growth and evolution. But in 2021 with Covid-19 and all the borders closed, tourism was in crisis mode. In May 2021 we were able to bring the industry back together physically in Otautahi Christchurch, at a critical time.
Our client had two key objectives for this event. The first was to use it to solve real-world problems by looking at the opportunities that would come when the world re-opened. The second was to deliver some much-needed support to business owners who were teetering on the edge, having had their market decimated. Human connection and support were critical. Uno Loco facilitated workshops on critical industry issues, such as plans for re-opening the borders, attracting talent and succeeding in a new global tourism environment.
In the words of our client, - ”The event was originally planned for 300 people, but the appeal of what we were doing attracted 800 participants to the Christchurch Town Hall. Along with our facilitators Hilary Barry and David Downs, we facilitated a series of workshops for 800 people simultaneously, delivering on the promise of getting an industry back together to solve problems and support each other. TRENZ 2021 was an incredible affirmation of the power of bringing people together to solve problems and support each other.”
